RANGERS boss Michael Beale has addressed the club's transfer interest in Todd Cantwell and Tom Davies.

While he wouldn't confirm anything, the Ibrox boss insists fans should be EXCITED about the business that's about to be done.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Norwich winger Cantwell is on the Gers' radar as they look to bolster their squad.

The former England under-21 international is a player on the club's transfer wishlist.

Everton star Tom Davies is another player who has been linked with Rangers in recent days.

The 24-year old, another former England U21 international, has made over 150 first team appearances for the Toffees but hasn't featured much over the past couple of seasons.

After watching his side defeat Dundee United 2-0 to maintain his unbeaten start as boss, Beale was asked directly about potential interest in Cantwell and Davies.

The Gers manager stopped short of confirming anything regarding either player - although he did sing both of their praises.

He said: “No names but I think they are both good players to be fair. Todd was an excellent player when he was young and playing against my Liverpool under-23s.

“I thought he would go on and have a fantastic career. He had that at the start and he is maybe just looking for a move to re-ingite it but I think he is a fantastic player at a good age.

“And Tom Davies, he used to kick my Liverpool Under 23s team all around the place. There’s a bit of John Lundstram about him. But again, two really good players.

“Not confirming anything with those two. But there’s a lot of players we are speaking to at the moment."

Beale further opened up on the sort of player he's looking to bring to the club this window.

He's hoping to add players at an English Premier League-level, or similar.

Beale's previously stated that any player he signs this window should be viewed as someone who's coming in to improve the team and start games.

He also reckons Rangers fans should be "excited" about the players who will be joining the club in the coming days and weeks.

Beale added: “I have to be excited about working with someone and the journey they are going on. I have to feel that they are someone who can come to Ibrox in front of 52,000 and really will grow and not shrink.

“That is the biggest question I have when I sit in front of a player – are they going to shrink at Ibrox or grow. We need growers and people who are going to come in in the next two or three years and help us win trophies and do well in Europe.

“That is the most important thing now. If I was to rush it and get it wrong, you’ll all condemn me. I hope you will be excited as I am about the two or three additions we are hoping to do.

"The training level has gone up every week since I have been here. I think one or two players maybe coming in from Premier League clubs or clubs around Europe with a real good profile that will certainly help us. I want to turn the heat up, I want to turn the dial up in the building."

Fashion Sakala and Malik Tillman struck to earn the Light Blues that 2-0 win at Tannadice.

There was a further injury setback for top scorer Antonio Colak, however.

The Croatian, back in the team for the first time since early November, had to be replaced at half-time after picking up a knock.

Beale says he hopes it'll be nothing serious.
