Tragic Lisa Marie Presley ignored numerous warning signs before sudden death

Lisa Marie Presley could have ignored a number of crucial warning signs prior to her death, an expert has claimed.

The only daughter of rock n roll icon Elvis Presley died in January aged just 54. Despite early reports that she died from cardiac arrest, her autopsy actually revealed her death was the result of a small bowel obstruction.

The star was the only child of Elvis Presley and had reportedly suffered from various health concerns before her death earlier this year, including a heart condition. On the morning of her death it's been reported that she was suffering from abdominal pain and was rushed to hospital by her ex-husband Danny Keough after he found her unconscious.

While being treated at hospital, Lisa Marie suffered heart issues resulting in a temporary pacemaker being fitted. However she continued to decline and went into a cardiac arrest and died 20 minutes later.

The autopsy report is said to have highlighted that while the cardiac arrest might be her final cause of death, her bowel obstruction also played a vital role in her health decline. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner noted that her bowl obstruction was a common complication as a result of weight loss surgery Lisa Marie had undergone a few years prior.

It's also been noted that there were warning signs in Lisa Marie's health including heart issues, long-lasting fevers, nausea, abdominal pain, and vomiting that she hadn't sought attention for and could have played a part in her death.

The bowel obstruction isn't just something that Lisa Marie suffered from, but is linked to her father Elvis Presley who died aged 42 in 1977. Elvis' cause of death was also noted as a heart issue, but he also suffered from a plethora of health problems.

Sally Hoedel, an Elvis historian and life long fan, commented on the link between Elvis and Lisa Marie's health problems as she spoke to The Sun: "Elvis Presley also suffered from a life-long bowel disorder and life-long chronic constipation. Although some of the medication he was taking would have further slowed his digestive system, it did not initially cause the problem.

"There is testimony to it being a problem for Elvis as a toddler and a teen, long before fame and prescription medication. This was also true for Lisa Marie, as her own testimony attests to it being known since childhood."
