A TOP Labour MP has been accused of hypocrisy after flying more than 5,000 miles to talk about the environment.
Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy has jetted to Brazil for talks with the country’s left-wing government.
After meeting his counterpart Mauro Vieira he said: “We discussed deepening UK-Brazil trade, partnering on education and working together on climate action and protecting the Amazon.”
Tory critics accused Tottenham MP Mr Lammy of double standards after he backed Sadiq Khan’s Ulez expansion.
Neil Garratt, leader of the London Conservatives, said: "While London Labour guilt-trip you for driving to work or to visit family, and slam you with a £12.50 a day charge to do it, long-haul Lammy shamelessly racks up the airmiles.

"He never stops preaching about climate change, but the hypocrisy of taking 5k mile jollies to South America himself is not lost on anyone.
"Lammy needs to get back to London, and explain to voters why it's one rule for him, and another for everyone else."
Earlier this year, a leader of climate protesters Extinction Rebellion was exposed as a diesel-driving eco-hypocrite who buys imported food.
Gail Bradbrook was snapped by a member of the public who saw her stocking up on Waitrose goods that had travelled thousands of air miles.
The mum then loaded up with goods from Chile, Vietnam, Spain, Cyprus and Italy, swathed in plastic and polythene.
An onlooker said: “Buying fruit flown halfway round the world in non-recyclable packaging then driving home in a diesel motor — what a towering hypocrite.
“But at least she wasn’t held up on her way home by idiots who glued themselves to the road.”
Bradbrook, who co-founded Extinction Rebellion, or XR, in 2016, was spotted by another shopper who took pictures of the trolley on her phone.
