Pundits Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer struggled to hide their embarrassment as they were forced to compete with an odd noise that viewers likened to a porn film.

It was later revealed that Dan, a notorious joker, had hidden a mobile phone on the TV set at Molineux.

He activated the sexy sounds ring-tone simply by ringing the mobile as he watched the live pictures on BBC1.

But, the prankster has now fessed up and said the BBC presenters were not his first target.

Dan and a pal had undertaken similar carefully planned steps to attach a phone in the BT Sport studio.

The pair had strapped a rubbish cheap old phone under the broadcaster's table at Fulham's Craven Cottage in March 2021.

The Fulham vs Spurs match was being covered by host Jake Humphrey and ex-pros Rio Ferdinand and Steve Sidwell, who were clueless about the hidden phone.

But, when Dan and his mate rang the cell its speaker was not loud enough, and didn't project onto the game's coverage.

However, it did spark a police investigation over a security breach.

The Youtuber told The Sun: "I can't remember what make the phone was, but it was cheap and terrible.

"We did some research and found another model and it worked a treat.

"It was so loud. Gary Lineker said it was so loud he couldn't even hear the others talking."

Last night's honking noises started just moments before the FA Cup third round replay was about to get underway.

It was first played as Lineker went live to co-commentator Shearer who was waiting to speak to him in the stadium.

Lineker started laughing and said: "I don't know who's making that noise.

"I don't know if somebody is sending a joke on someone's phone, I don't know if you heard it at home."

Being the professional that he is, Lineker continued to present the show impeccably despite the sound simply not going away.

Once the game had started, Shearer joked that it was coming from Danny Murphy's phone with the ex-Liverpool man also in the studio.

But Lineker took to Twitter to reveal exactly what had happened.

He uploaded a photo of a phone taped to the back of the set.

The caption said: "Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing."
