Vanessa Feltz and Ben Ofoedu are 'still very much in love', pal claims

Ben Ofoedu is very much 'still in love' with Vanessa Feltz and there is still hope for a reconciliation, his friend believes.

The veteran broadcaster is expected to lay her heartache on the line as she opens up about their split on Celebs Go Dating tonight. She dumped the Phats and Small singer, 50, after he admitted to cheating and sext-messaging another woman behind her back.

Broken Ben told how he blames the fact that she didn’t marry him, despite being engaged for 15 years, for making him insecure after admitting cheating and begged the TV star to take him back. Six months on, she has refused to entertain the idea and went on the E4 dating show to prove she's moving on.

Former Celebs Go Dating star Ryan-Mark Parsons, who is set to return to the show later in the series, says he has grown close to Ben this year and has listened to what he has had to say. He says his friend still wants to work things out and hasn't given up hope of a reunion. Viewers will see Vanessa discussing the break-up tonight with the relationship experts on the E4 series.

Ryan-Mark told the Mirror his friend is a 'good guy who make a bad decision' and was quick to stick up for him after getting "months of negative press" following the fall-out to their split. He said: "I've been hearing his side of the story, we talk all the time. It's very difficult, it's a shame it happened – there is very much love still there.

"There's a lot of voices involved, but they're great together. I don't know if it's irretrievable, but they do still really love each other. I hope one day they get back together. It's an unlikely relationship, they've been together for nearly two decades. But there's love still there, that much I know.

"I really can't speak for Vanessa, I don't have contact with her, but I know she's a wonderful person. I don't know for a fact is she still feels the same, but I think they're still in love. Who knows what might happen but I've really got to know Ben and I know what a good person he is."

Ben took full responsibility and apologised to her and both their families after their relationship crumbled. Calling her the “Queen of my heart”, he begged for a second chance when he told the Mirror how sorry he was and said he has thrown his life away after the news broke.

Engaged in 2006 after a year of dating, Ben says his dream of marriage were dashed by This Morning agony aunt Vanessa, who was too scarred from her first failed marriage. He says this played a part in 2015, when he slept with a woman he met in Ibiza three times.

"I cheated because I was insecure," he admitted. "The girl said things like, ‘You’re such a great guy. I don’t know why you’re not married. Who wouldn’t want to marry you?’ I’m sorry for all the pain caused to Vanessa, to her family, to mine.

"We had an amazing 16 years. It wasn’t perfect, but it was amazing. I truly love her. She’s the love of my life," he said: "Vanessa is perfect. She didn’t have any issues. I was all me, my insecurities. It’s my fault, my stupidity, I’ve thrown away my life. I hit the self-destruct button. That coupled with alcohol was a recipe for disaster. It was a volatile situation. That’s why that happened."

Vanessa joins OnlyFans star Lottie Moss, the half-sister of supermodel Kate Moss, joins Adam Collard, Mark-Francis Vandelli from Made In Chelsea, Love Island ’s Chloe Burrows and comedian Spuddz. But they won't be the only showbiz names we see.

Ryan-Mark is going back on to date one of this year's stars. He got the call from show bosses to take one of them on a date, but it ended in disaster after an explosive row. The 23-year-old stormed off as he caused chaos again, a year on from leaving fans speechless after telling a date from Sussex that "all people from Brighton stink".

He said: "You'll be shocked to hear I think I offended my date. I say it as it is, too many people beat around the bush. Sometimes it rubs people up the wrong way, but it makes for good TV! I loved being back, it was a lot of fun. You'll get to see me with one of the celebrities, I'm not allowed to saw who but it's very eventful. Seeing everyone again was brilliant. They drafted me in and said they need my help.

"Unfortunately being on the show last year hasn't helped me find love, no. It seems like everyone I talk to watched the series and they're almost scared. That's the feedback I've had. It's made it ten times more difficult. I think I need to go back the agency and have a full run."
