McDonald's fans have lashed out on social media after the fast-food chain took potato waffles off the breakfast menu in their new year shake-up.
Several items have been axed in the revamped offering, with new options including a Spicy Sriracha Chicken One.
However, it is the removal of the popular potato waffle from the breakfast menu that has caused the most controversy among customers.
The hash brown alternative had only been on the menu for two months but will be making way along with cheese melt dippers, the Big Tasty, Festive Pie and Celebrations McFlurry.
The new menu will be available from Wednesday January 4 and, as well as the Spicy Sriracha Chicken One replacing the Sweet Chilli Chicken One as Wednesday's wrap of the day, Aero McFlurries and Cheesy Garlic Bites will also be making a return.
Former McDonald's worker shares best money-saving hack - but there's a catchPotato waffle loyalists took to Twitter to share their disappointment, with the Manchester Evening News reporting one tweeter writing: “McDonald’s taking the potato waffles off the breakfast menu has ruined my life.”
Others called for a petition to bring them back permanently.
The Spicy Sriracha Chicken One promises to be filled with spice, with the new Big Flavour Wrap aimed at those looking for something with a bit of a kick.
Made with either crispy chicken breast or grilled chicken, spicy sriracha sauce, cucumber, slivered onions, and lettuce, in a soft, toasted wrap, the wrap will offer something fresh to chicken and wrap lovers.
But the meal will be available for a limited time only, until February 14.
McDonald’s is also welcoming back a few fan favourites, including the Aero Chocolate McFlurry and Aero Peppermint McFlurry made with pieces of Aero Chocolate and either peppermint or chocolate sauce.
Plus, Cheesy Garlic Bites will be back, with five bites per portion, made with a blend of mozzarella and Emmental cheese, in a garlic herb coating and served with a rich tomato dip.
For those taking part in Veganuary customers will be able to get their hands on a Double McPlant in every McDonald's restaurant from January 4.
The Double McPlant will cost £4.89 individually and £6.49 as part of a meal, although prices may vary on location.
