Johannes, 36, rose to fame when he joined the roster of professionals on the long-running dancing competition in 2018.

In 2022 he also took part in the live tour with former Bake Off champion John Whaite.

As part of the string of shows, he performed in 21 arenas across the UK as fans got to relive their favourite Strictly Come Dancing moments.

However he revealed that after the show, a police officer approached him in the car park after the show as they thought he looked like a 'criminal'.

He told The Mirror: "A police van pulled up into the parking lot where I was sitting.

"Two officers got of the car. I said, ‘Mummy, they are walking over to me’. ‘What did you do wrong?’ she asked.

"I felt stung. ‘Nothing’, I said. When they came over I showed my ID. ‘Is there something wrong?’ I asked one of them. ‘No, you look suspicious and like someone we are looking for'.

"Maybe they were doing their job but the fact I’d just been on stage with thousands of people shouting my name and now I was being approached by police who thought I could be a criminal felt like a slap in the face."

However, the show must go on and ever the professional, Johannes kept on going despite the positive experience.

The TV personality added: "Regardless, I wrapped up the tour oozing positive energy."

This comes as he broke down in tears as he joined Kaye Adams, Dame Kelly Holmes, Katie Piper and Nadia Sawalha on Loose Women.

Speaking about his new memoir, Jojo: Finally Home, he explained: "It’s only recently that I've made peace with what has happened in the past because I had an opportunity to hear my mum's side of the story.

"As I was reading the book, I sat down and interviewed her and asked her questions to say, 'why did you make that decision? Why did you stay that long in that marriage that didn't serve you?"

He was then asked if it was difficult to speak to his mother when he started to get teary eyed.

Johannes replied: "It was. I dedicated the book to my mother because I wanted to applaud her love...

"I'm so sorry. It's emotional because great things happen in my life, but my family's never around to enjoy it with me," he explained as he chocked up.

"Today, more than any day I just wish that she was here because I can just imagine where she is right now, she's alone and that's a reality."
