Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's fashion choices at the Invictus Games conveyed a sense of "harmony" alongside some possible "individuality," a PR expert has suggested.
The couple attended the international sporting contest in Germany this week. Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39, were spotted together on several occasions whilst in attendance, with them having modelled various outfits at the event.
The seemed to wear coordinated outfits for their first appearance together together on Tuesday and matched again the next day. They also wore complementary looks on another occasion and both opted for light colours on Saturday, ahead of the closing ceremony later that evening.
Although the couple seemed to have coordinated several of their outfits, they didn't exclusively match in their fashion choices. Meghan and Prince Harry at times wore somewhat contrasting outfits, including on the former's second day.
And the couple didn't wear matching outfits on Thursday. They also opted against wearing the same colours at one point on Friday, with Meghan spotted in a cream ensemble, whilst Prince Harry sported a blue shirt and a pair of jeans.
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekTheir outfits didn't seem to match at the closing ceremony on Saturday. Meghan wore a teal dress beside her husband, who appeared to be in a traditional black suit. It however appeared to include a blue jacket in some of the photos.
Following their various appearances this week, the Mirror spoke to PR expert Mayah Riaz about their fashion choices. She told us: "Celebrity couples coordinating their outfits has been a longstanding trend in the entertainment industry."
Mayah continued: "It can be seen as a way for couples to visually demonstrate their unity and present a harmonious front to the public. Meghan and Prince Harry are no exception to this phenomenon at the Invictus Games."
She further commented this week: "Coordinating outfits suggest that Meghan and Prince Harry are unified at the moment and are presenting a sense of harmony between them. When a couple is seen sporting similar looks, it can create a visual representation of their togetherness and shared values. It sends a message that they are on the same page and support each other in public and private."
And then discussing opposing outfits, Mayah told us: "On the other hand, contrasting outfits may suggest that there is a level of individuality within their relationship, allowing each of them to express their personal style and preferences. This can be seen as a healthy sign of independence."
The PR expert however said: "It is important to note that fashion choices should not be solely relied upon to gauge the state of a relationship. While coordinating outfits can provide some insight into a couple's dynamic, it should not be the sole basis for determining their level of harmony or disharmony. Relationships are multifaceted and complex, and fashion choices are just one aspect of a couple's overall public persona."
Further sharing her thoughts about their style, Mayah said: "Regarding their fashion choices at the Invictus Games, Meghan and Prince Harry have often embraced a casual and relaxed style that aligns with the nature of the event.
"Their clothing choices during the Invictus Games may reflect their desire to connect with the participants and show support for the cause. By dressing in a manner that is approachable and relatable, they create a sense of camaraderie and solidarity with the athletes and attendees."
