WWE icon Bill Goldberg's journey to stardom has consisted of an intense body transformation to reach wrestling's biggest stage.

The 56-year-old WWE  legend is one of the most recognizable figures in the sport, and his mission to get there was unique, from spending time in the NFL to selling out wrestling events.

Goldberg grew up in Oklahoma and was a standout high school football player.

He received a scholarship from the Georgia Bulldogs and played there for three seasons before pursuing the NFL.

The St. Louis Rams (now Los Angeles Rams) drafted Goldberg in the 11th round of the 1990 NFL draft.

He would make his NFL appearance for the Atlanta Falcons in 1992 and would play all three of his total seasons in the NFL there.

Goldberg was forced to retire due to injuries.

He decided to pursue a career in professional wrestling and continued the intense training he knew from playing football.

Goldberg joined the WWE  after a prolific wrestling career in the 1990s with WCW.

He became a household name with the WCW after his legendary match-win streak of over 150.

Goldberg was with the WWE in 2003 for one year before taking nearly ten years off.

He returned in 2016 to the WWE at 49 and in close to better shape and wrestled for six years.

The former WCW champion revealed his diet then to GQ, which was intense.

He eats six servings of oatmeal and 20 blueberries before morning training, then eats 12 eggs with two yolks, six pieces of bacon, and gluten-free toast with avocado.

Goldberg also has two whole gluten-free pizzas with a load of hamburger meat and two protein shakes with noodles. After that, it's noodles, soup, and shrimp before his Muay Thai training, followed by dinner.

The WWE icon hasn't appeared in a match since 2022 but has said he is open to a return for a retirement match.

"You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one," said Goldberg to Sports Illustrated

"That's all I can say. I made a deal with the devil, and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match."
