Vanessa Feltz has revealed she kisses Piers Morgan 'most days' and thanks him every time they meet for exposing her husband's affairs.
The TV personality, who is currently starring in Celebs Go Dating 2023, has opened up about her experience of looking for love again at the age of 61. Vanessa's engagement to ex-fiancé Ben Ofoedu broke down in February, after it emerged that the British singer-songwriter had been unfaithful in the relationship. It's understood she has since kicked him out of her North London home and blocked his phone calls.
Prior to this, she was married to Dr Michael Kurer for 17 years. He left Vanessa without reason in 2000, however, only for her to later discover he too had cheated. His infidelity, which left the Strictly Come Dancing star devastated, was exposed to the public by the newspaper Piers edited at the time. Vanessa later said the separation, which occurred when her children were just 10 and 13, "shattered" her.
"Piers Morgan transformed my life," she told the Sun. "I mean, he didn’t do it on purpose or to do me a favour. But every time I see him, which is nearly every day at the TalkTV studios, I thank him."
Vanessa, who shares daughters Allegra Benitah, 37, and Saskia Joss, 34, with Michael, goes on to reflect on her initial confusion over the marriage breakdown. "Imagine your husband leaves and you don’t know why. I didn’t know if he was having a nervous breakdown or what was going on," she admitted. "But Piers essentially found out he was actually having an affair and clarified absolutely everything."
Cristiano Ronaldo's 'Newcastle clause' in Al-Nassr contract comes to lightFormer Radio 2 DJ Vanessa then revealed she's been a 'devoted fan' of the TalkTV host ever since, before hailing him as "good fun" in the offices. "We actually kiss on the escalator in the building most days," she added. "He’s coming in and I’m coming down and we kiss in the middle," she went on to tell the publication.
Speaking previously about her split from her ex-husband Michael, Vanessa told OK! magazine: "I was so shocked and broken-hearted and rocked to my absolute core. It makes you wary of getting married again. The marriage seemed to be so disposable - it could just be chucked down the toilet in 10 seconds flat, even though I didn’t want it to be and I didn’t realise there was any trouble with it or problems." Vanessa - who was engaged to ex Ben when giving the interview published last year - added: "So it made me feel a bit damaged and reluctant to ever do it again."
Despite being heartbroken by her split from Ben, Vanessa said that she doesn't wish to let her negative experiences of dating ruin her future with men and is still hopeful she'll find romance. “I don’t want to be somebody who’s so bruised by previous relationships that I feel that all men are deeply flawed and there are no good ones, and you can never trust anyone and you can never be happy," she said.
The Londoner also insisted that, while she herself has been "unlucky", she continues to believe in "love, in romance and fidelity." "I know people who are happily married and have been for years," she added. "I know it’s possible and I would love it to happen for me. I’d love exactly what everyone else has got."
