Lucy Fallon has plenty of reasons to smile as she picked up her £75,000 new car with her footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson.

The 26-year-old Preston North End midfielder and actress Lucy, 27, look made up with their sleek new Audi as they beamed for a photo with the motor which it looks like they'll be sharing. The telly star - Bethany Platt on the long-running ITV soap - will love getting behind the wheel with their tot Sonny, seven months, safely stabbed up in his baby seat behind.

They started dating back in May 2021 and now they've now good another new addition to the family in the form of the sleek vehicle. "Thanks to forward group for sorting the car out for us, great service," Ryan wrote on Instagram as he uploaded a snap of them both looking very happy with their purchase.

The couple met through former Corrie co-star Helen Flanagan and her ex Scott Sinclair, who introduced them. It appears Lucy will have less time to drive the new car after reportedly heading back into Corrie studios to film brand new scenes. It is expected that Lucy’s return won’t air until the New Year - meaning she will be back on the show three years since she was last seen.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Lucy is one of soap’s most talented actresses who won lots of awards for her powerful portrayal of Bethany’s grooming storyline. “Bosses reached out to her a few weeks ago about the possibility of coming back, and told her everything they’d planned for Bethany if she agreed.

"She discussed it with her boyfriend, and family, because she’s a mum now with a baby. Once they’d talked about childcare, and how best to juggle it all, she was able to say she’d love to return.” Back in 2021, Lucy herself hinted that she wouldn’t say no to returning to the soap. She said: “Never say never. I didn’t leave for a particular reason or because I didn’t like it. I left because I wanted to go down different avenues.”

But her main focus is being a mum and Lucy has proudly shared photos of her boy in the months since his arrival. Introducing him to her social media followers in February, she wrote online: "A month of our Sonny Jude Ledson. It’s been so gorgeous being in our little baby bubble for the last 4 weeks but he’s too scrumptious not to share. So here he is... we don’t sleep as much as we used to, but we smile a whole lot more."

Things have certainly changed since she last set foot on the cobbles. After leaving the ITV soap in 2021, Lucy expressed her desire to tie the knot with boyfriend Tom Leech, with plans of marrying him, before their relationship came to an end in January of that year.

They had been together since February 2020, after meeting through friends in 2017. They split after the coronavirus lockdown "drove them apart" before reuniting again in September last year to have one last try but it wasn't to be and Lucy asked insurance manager Tom to move out of her flat for good.
