The show, which originally aired on BBC Three in 2007, followed couples in the build up to their nuptials.

However, the bride-to-be was left out of the planning and the groom had to organise the big day from start to finish with strict no contact from their other-half.

Often brides were left sobbing when they discovered what their partners had planned just before they reached the altar.

Don't Tell the Bride moved to BBC One in 2015 before going to Sky One the following year.

Channel 4's sister network E4 had been airing the show since 2017.

However, the show has been removed from the schedules permanently.

A source said: "People are flocking to E4 right now to watch MAFS UK in their millions - but whilst there’s no plans for DTTB to return at the moment, it’s clear that people love the chaos and drama that wedding fever brings - so who knows what could happen!"

While some couples stayed loved up after cameras stopped rolling, many divorced after seedy affairs were exposed.

E4 already airs a number of matchmaking shows such as Celebs Go Dating and Married at First Sight.

A reboot of Four Weddings was previously ditched just weeks before production was due to start.
