After featuring it in our monthly round up of affordable beauty boxes that can save you money month after month, I’ve finally given it a go and that’s worth a lovely £53 and is packed full of tricks and treats to see you through the spooky season.
The box comes in a large pink gift box, perhaps somewhat oversized for the contents, though I suppose some months there may be some physically larger items that need to fit. It’s roughly the same size as Glossybox, but twice as deep with little stuffing, so as you open it up, the products can seem a little bit lost.
Inside the PrettyLittleThing beauty box for October 2023However, inside I spotted some names I’m already very well acquainted with, including , along with some I’ve not yet tried, such as There seemed to be a good mixture of skincare, cosmetics and hair products, too, offering a nice variety that would make for the ultimate Sunday pamper.

On the makeup front, there was the , which is usually £11 to buy on its own. I much prefer using cream contour products over powder and find these stick products great for precision on the nose and for defining cheekbones. Meanwhile, the - usually £5 - has a great comb style applicator that grabs each lash for longer looking, fluttery lashes.
The PrettyLittleThing mascara has an RRP of £5I’m a big fan of a fluffy brow and regularly get mine laminated, but between appointments, I need to use styling products that keep them in shape, and have previously used the likes of the Refy brow tint or Got2B glued wand. Inside the PLT box was this , which you can work into your brow hairs and brush into place and they really will stay all day long without the need for touch ups.
Moving on to haircare, there’s the which is great for testing out the product before committing to spending £28 on the full size bottle. I’ve often avoided additional products in my hair as it can make it greasy quickly, however, I have enjoyed using this oil to help keep frizz at bay, style my slicked back buns, and to inject some health back into my locks of late.
Then there is a which immediately took me back to being my 13-year-old acne-prone self with the scent. It’s a grey paste-like substance designed to banish blemishes, but it’s the one product I just wasn’t that keen on in the box due to the smell, colour and the fact that it wasn’t as abrasive as I would have liked from an exfoliating scrub.
My least favourite product was this exfoliating scrub from Carbon TheoryAnd last but not least there was a sample sized version of the and since I already have a full size version of this dreamy product at home, I’ll be popping this in the Christmas stash as a little stocking filler or part of a pamper hamper.
These are a great way to discover some new products, or to put up as a standalone gift for Christmas. There’s plenty of space in the box to add your own items to it, too, making it personalised to the recipient. What I do like about their box is that you're not tied into a subscription service, and can see exacly which products are inside before you buy, so you'll know if it's a good investment before you click 'add to basket'
With a variety of skin care essentials and make-up pieces, this box is sure to take your everyday beauty routine to a whole new level without needing to spend a fortune. And turns out after trying my first I may well just have to splurge on that hair oil after all.
