PALOMA Faith has opened up on feeling "really alone" following her marriage breakdown as she candidly addressed life as a solo parent.

The Only Love Can Hurt Like This songstress, 42, addressed the "changing shape" of her family following her split from artist Leyman Lahcine, 35, after 10 years together.

This week, The Sun exclusively revealed the real reason Paloma dumped her partner - who is dad to her two kids.

In a candid chat on Thursday's Lorraine show, Paloma opened up on the aftermath of the split.

She told host Lorraine Kelly, 63: "When you have got kids with someone it's a completely different story.

"It's still your family, it's just a different shape to what it was before."

She then admitted with her new music she was "literally on set crying" about her circumstances.

Paloma then frankly said: "But you know at night when you've got the kids to bed and it's silent in the house and you're just sitting there.

"You feel ... it can be really, you can be really alone."

Earlier in the chat, the mum of two also talked about the vital element of play, in what is World Play Day.

Paloma added: "Especially now, because I am on my own with the kids, it is so easy to go 'there's a screen.'"

She then admitted she tries to play with her kids "as much as possible" and added: "They don't have a clue what I do for a living.

"They don't care.

"I am ignored like all mums, you're invisible, they are like 'just serve me.'"

This week, we reported how the Brit Award winner "wasn't happy" in her relationship.

Opening up on the separation for the first time, she reflected: "In the last few years I've come closer to failure, to despair, to grief and loss than ever in my life.

"I had a choice: I could disappear into my melancholy or I could wear it as a badge of honour.

"It wasn't an option for me to stop in my tracks and break down. I have two children. I am and always will be the breadwinner - a source of strength and support for many others.

"And I wasn't happy, I wasn't mentally well, and I had to do something about it."

Looking ahead to dating other people, she added: “I’ll never be perfect so if that’s what you want, go find someone else that you’ll cheat on. Be boring.

“It’s never boring with me. Maybe annoying, maybe irritating, maybe stressful. But not boring.”

She has mined last year’s heartbreak for her sixth studio album, The Glorification Of Sadness, and has today dropped lead single How You Leave A Man, which includes a pointed dig at her ex.

Paloma sings: “He’ll know when you change your locks and your number, he’s sleeping with people unknown.”

Clearly the feelings are still extremely raw for Paloma, who started dating Leyman in 2013 and married him in 2017.

She has never confirmed their nuptials, but refers to the fact they were a married couple with the new song Divorce.
