Christine McGuinness made the best of a bad situation by deciding to make the most of her sun-soaked holiday after she was left stranded on holiday, following a string of air traffic control errors.

But ever the optimist, Christine, 35, decided to enjoy herself along with her three children, as she posted a picture on social media of her in a revealing bikini. The former Real Housewives of Cheshire personality is on holiday with her nine-year-old twins, Leo and Penelope, and six-year-old Felicity, as well as her mum and nan. In the picture, Christine is wearing a multi-coloured bikini and she teamed her look with a black visa hat.

She captioned her post saying: "Still stranded but safe and happy. My babies are reaching new milestones, this was meant to be. If you have followed our journey you will know going abroad with my children was once a dream. Now they're here on an unplanned, extended holiday coping with change and even making friends."

The reality TV star was hoping to fly back to the UK earlier this week but like many other families, the estranged wife of TV personality Paddy McGuinness was forced to stay put, as airlines were grounded. Taking to social media on Monday this week, she informed fans: "Stranded due to network failures across UK airports, no idea when we can get a flight home but I feel very lucky. We found a place to stay and I get extra time to make more memories with my babies."

She later added: "I trust in the universe. I had jobs booked all week, a million things to do at home getting ready to prep for 'back to school' but...we were meant to stay longer, we have more memories to make, time with my babies is priceless. I actually feel very grateful, we're not home but we have everything we need."

Christine and Paddy first met in 2007 but it took two years before the pair started dating each other. But their romance didn't stand the test of time as last year, the couple announced that they had separated after 15 years together.

While Christine has taken the issues with air traffic control in her stride, the same can't be said ofr Richard Madeley, 67, who nearly swore on air when speaking to Transport Secretary Mark Harper. The Good Morning Britain star was left furious after the MP claimed that the air traffic control issues, which has left many families stranded, was the first incident in ten years. Unable to contain his fury, Richard decided to list all the times that this has happened in previous years.

He told Mark Harper: ""July 2019, 50 flights cancelled at various London airports because of radar problems. The year before 2018 again delayed flights by 20 minutes for three weeks at Stansted. Do you hear the sequence? We're going back a year at a time." But as he spoke, his anger appeared to increase with pure frustration as he continued: "Can you not accept that people watching this, their hearts will sink when they hear you trying to downgrade the problem and say it's not that bad? Because it's terrible minister! It's awful."
