CHANNEL 4 schedule shift has lost the comedy panel game show Taskmaster half its audience in latest shake-up.

The seventh episode of the latest run of Avalon’s hit format aired an hour later than its usual 9pm slot, losing roughly half the 1m (7.9%) series average.

Taskmaster drew double the 280,000 (3.1%) viewers who tuned into a repeat of The Good Ship Murder on Channel 5 and the 140,000 (1.2%) who watched the second part of BBC2’s Interview with the Vampire double bill from 9.45pm. 

Taskmaster was moved from its usual time to make way for the penultimate episode of Channel 4 show Don’t Look Down.

However, it was still comfortably ahead of the 414,000 (4.3%) slot average.

Don't Look Down drew 520,000 (3.9%) at 9pm against the 874,000 (6.3%) benchmark. 

It starred Paddy McGuinness and a team of celebs who headed to the Alps to train for a world-first high wire walk for Stand Up To Cancer.

It came in ahead of the first episode in BBC two’s Interview with the Vampire showing, which sunk its teeth into 225,000 (1.6%). The drama is boxsetted on iPlayer.  

All Creatures Great and Small triumphed with a steady 2m (15.3%) on C5.

While BBC One and ITV1’s offerings were neck-and-neck, with the latter’s Unbelievable Moments Caught on Tape returning with a seventh outing to 1.3m (9.8%) – some way behind the 2m (14.6%) slot average - against BBC One’s Soldier which marched on with 1.3m (9.7%), according to Barb data provided by overnights.tv.

Meanwhile, Big Brother held steady with 942,000 (7.2%) against Married At First Sight UK on E4 which entertained 1.2m (9.2%).
