You’ve been shaving your legs wrong - my way's faster & gets them smootherThe reason this hack is unknown by most is because of its sneaky nature.
Most washing machines are automatically set on 40 degrees - a more expensive energy price - meaning that people forget to manually change the setting.
The video continues to show a second tip - which is to use stain removers when washing at a lower temperature - so the wash still cleans effectively.
The clip - posted by @budgetingmumofficial and has racked up more than 261 likes and has received mixed reactions.
One viewer supported the woman and said: "Good idea for the stain removers with low temp."
Another shared their own tip, "I do my washing up in cold water now with antibac fairy, save loads on smart meter too, persil is good for stains and comfort for smell," they said.
But a third was sceptical and wrote: "30 doesn’t even Rinse your clothes properly."
This isn't the only energy slashing tip to make the news recently.
