Julia Fox revealed that "there were definitely some red flags" during her whirlwind romance with Kanye West that she admitted to "turning a blind eye" to.
The 33-year-old author sat down with BBC Radio Woman's Hour host Emma Barnett as she gave an inside look into her brief month-long relationship with the rapper as she continues to promote her new memoir "Down the Drain." In the interview, Julia admitted to noticing the red flags, but chose to ignore them until she realised the romance became "unsustainable" for her.
The former Uncut Gems star told the news outlet: "I think at the time there were definitely some red flags that I chose to turn a blind eye to because it was fun, and exciting, and shiny, and you know just new," she continued: "It felt like a relief in the beginning 'oh finally someone else can take the reins', but I think you know it became unsustainable and that's why the relationship only lasted a month."

In her memoir, Julia dropped many shocking bombshells about her romance with the Yeezy founder whom she never explicitly states is Kanye, but referred to as "the artist." In her novel, the mother-of-one revealed that Kanye bought her an entirely new wardrobe when they starting dating and was told by the Stronger singer that she was not allowed to be seen with him in public unless he pre-approved her outfit. This was just one of many "red flags" she noticed in the relationship.
Julia Fox says ex Kanye 'doesn’t know' her full name as she teases 'Drake date'In her book, Julia revealed that while dating the famous artist the rapper also tried to force her and all of her friends to sign an NDA prohibiting them from speaking about their relationship, to which Julia refused to do. She also shared that Kanye asked her to be his girlfriend during their first date, offered to pay for her to have a boob job, as well as many other shocking actions. Julia after a month of dating ended things with the rapper telling him that she was no longer having fun.
In an interview with Drew Barrymore this week, Julia also briefly spoke about her romance with Kanye. She admitted to the talk show host: "I only could do it for so long, ‘cause ultimately I think he needed a full-time person and I just couldn’t be full-time."
She explained that at first she "just embraced" their public relationship and agreed to "do what [Ye] says" and added that he would "want to talk on the phone a lot." Despite trying to lean into the dynamic, Julia said that ultimately dating Kanye "just became too much" for her to handle and her top priority was to take care of her child. She told Drew: "I didn’t sign up to have two babies — I couldn’t do it. It felt like two babies.”
