MASTERCHEF: The Professionals is renowned for serving up mouthwatering dishes.

But in tonight's MasterChef episode, viewers were left feeling sick as professional chef Himanshu Verma served up a raw dish.

The brand-new series kicked off with four professional chefs hoping to blow away judges Marcus Wareing, Gregg Wallace and Monica Galetti.

In tonight's episode, the chefs got the chance to showcase their individual cooking styles as they prepared two standout Signature Dishes – one main and one dessert.

Himanshu tried to impress the judges with his lamb chops served with palak spinach puree.

However, that dish left Greg Wallace with a bad taste in his mouth as he pointed out that the lamb was raw.

"I can tell you straight away that lamb is not cooked anywhere near enough for me. I would send it back I'm afraid," Greg explained.

Viewers were shocked by Himanshu's undercooked dishes, with one writing: "Must be raw for Gregg to send it back."

"It's not MasterChef without someone serving raw lamb," another commented.

It may only be the first step of the competition, but the standards are already set high.

And sadly it was Himanshu who was eliminated in the episode, along with contestant Catrin.

Chefs Cameron and Dara impressed the judges with their dishes and sailed through to the next stage of the competition.
