ECO activist Greta Thunberg has been removed from the Israeli curriculum after she shared a photo holding a poster supporting Gaza.

In the snap, the 20-year-old is surrounded by young women gripping homemade signs that say they support Palestine, while Thunberg's reads: "Stand with Gaza."

Now Israel has said that it is pulling all references to the eco-warrior from its school curriculum.

They say Thunberg, who became a global climate icon at the age of 15, is no longer seen as an "educational and moral role model" in their country.

On Friday, the 20-year-old shared the photo of herself and three other activists holding posters.

Thunberg attached the image to a post on X which read: "Today we strike in solidarity with Palestine and Gaza.

"The world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected."

In the hours that followed more than 100 Israeli activists wrote to the eco-warrior saying they were “deeply hurt, shocked and disappointed”.

They called her post “appallingly one-sided, ill-informed, superficial”.

The day after she shared the photo, Thunberg backtracked and said: “It goes without saying – or so I thought – that I’m against the horrific attacks by Hamas."

But the outrage over her post has now seen Israeli school bosses take action.

The Telegraph reported the education ministry said: “Hamas is a terrorist organisation responsible for the murder of 1,400 innocent Israelis, including children, women, and the elderly, and it has abducted over 200 people to Gaza.

“This stance disqualifies her from being an educational and moral role model, and she is no longer eligible to serve as an inspiration and educator for Israeli students.”

It has now been more than two weeks since Hamas gunmen caught Israel off guard as they stormed out of the Gaza Strip.

The horror massacre, and Israel's defence, has cost thousands their lives and seen thousands more injured.

Thunberg made a name for herself in 2018 after skipping school until the Swedish election to influence the outcome and also forcing her family to change their lifestyle and reduce carbon footprints.
