Thousands of Scotland fans pre-registered for tickets in September even before Steve Clarke's men had punched their ticket to the finals.

Figures out of Germany revealed Scotland were the fourth most well-represented nation in terms of fans pre-registering for briefs.

There will be various methods of attaining tickets with different ballots taking place, but nonetheless a huge number of Scotland fans hoping to attend games face being left disappointed.

That's because according to the Daily Mail, the Scottish FA will be limited to an allocation of just 9,500 tickets per game.

That number will obviously dwarf the number of fans heading out for the tournament.

It's being reported that all 24 teams at next year's finals, including hosts Germany, will be handed the same percentage of tickets per match.

That averages that number of around 9,500 tickets per game.

Scotland Supporters Club members will be given the first chance to attain the gold dust tickets.

But with 38,000 members, the demand already far exceeds the tickets that will be available.

As mentioned, there will be other official ways of getting a hold of tickets.

On top of the SFA's official allocation, tickets will also be available in a public sale.

However, there were over three million applications with just 1.2million tickets with the demand once again way higher than what's going to be available.

Supporters who miss out on tickets via the SFA allocation will be forced into the public sale and at that point, it's a lottery.

Scotland qualified for their second successive Euros last month following Spain's win over Norway.

After a stunning start to the qualifying campaign, form has dipped in recent times with the Scots suffering three consecutive defeats, including two friendly losses to England and France.

Boss Steve Clarke will be missing several key men for the final two qualifiers against Georgia and Norway in just over a week's time.

Josh Doig and Robby McCrorie are among the players drafted in as the Scots look for a return to form to bring the campaign to a close.
