A woman was left horrified after she allegedly found a dead spider "cooked into " her Domino's Pizza.
Georgia Cook had sat down to eat the takeaway with her partner Dillon, 27, and son George, 5, when they made the horrifying discovery. The 26-year-old mum said she was excited about the delivery from the chain's outlet in Feltham, West London - but when the pizza arrived and the family opened the lid, they were shocked to reportedly find a spider in the half pepperoni, half Meateor dish.
The furious mum, who works in the food industry herself, said she was still waiting for a response from Domino's Pizza after the order on 8 October around 6pm.
She said: “I sat down to eat my pizza and Dillon shouted ‘There's a spider in the pizza’, I jumped up and screamed ‘What! That's disgusting!’. It put us off the whole meal and it wasn't cheap, so we were angry. After this, I contacted the store straight away and their answer was that they check our pizzas very carefully.
“I was so angry and said ‘Is that it?’ – it clearly got there somehow. Before ending the call I told them I’d be taking this further. I contacted Domino's food safety, but we’ve had no reply as of yet – other than their investigating. [sic] They seem to be taking their time responding. I've worked in the food industry for eight years. I understand some incidents happen but having no interest in rectifying the issue is just appalling. All my friends and family are freaked out and put off Domino's forever!”
Ex-Domino's employee started business with just £10 - and now makes six figuresGeorgia shared the post on Facebook, with users reacting strongly to the alleged pizza disaster. One woman joked: “For extra, extra crunch”, while another quipped: “It’s the Halloween edition". But others appeared more concerned by the discovery and said they were now put off ordering, as one said: “No more Domino’s for me.” Another person added: “Domino’s is way too expensive for this.” A spokesperson for Domino's Pizza said: “Great tasting, quality pizza is what we pride ourselves on and all our food goes through a strict, thorough quality check before it is sent out to customers. We have contacted this customer and offered a full refund to make up for them not being able to enjoy their pizza on this occasion.”
