It was first released on HBO, but soon arrived on Netflix in the UK where it is currently sitting at number seven in the top 10 charts for TV shows.

He was mysterious absent from the Northern Territory in 2017 and his 11 elderly neighbours all became suspects in his murder.

Paddy opted to retire in the town in 2008, but he later went missing with his dog.

He was last seen in the Pink Panther Pub on 16 December 2018 and according to police, there was "no sign of any disturbance" at his home.

The series has received rave reviews from viewers for the outrageous story depicted.

One viewer said: "The characters were just as outrageous as the story."

A second noted: "One of the best Netflix shows in recent times and that ending, just when you think it’s all over, brilliant. Highly recommend."

"One of the best true crime documentaries I’ve seen in a long time!! Very entertaining and compelling!", exclaimed a third.

As a fourth user wrote: "An absolute MUST watch documentary – brilliantly told and edited – riveting to the end!"

The personality was controversial in the town and was embroiled in arguments with many of his neigbours for years.

Most notably, his disagreement with Fran Hodgetts who was the face of the local cafe and tea room, famous for her wild buffalo pies

She accused Paddy of dragging dead kangaroos under her house, poisoning her plants and telling travellers that not even his dog would eat her grub.

Fran soon became the main suspect in the stranger-than-fiction murder case.

In the new Netflix documentary, Last Stop Larrimah, she revealed how she was driven out of the neighbourhood.

The grandmother of nine lived in the area for years, but was ostracised due to accusations from the other residents.

She says: “I had enough of everything. People driving past singing out, ‘Murderer, murderer. Where’s Paddy?’

"It was so bad because, knowing I'm such a good person, I am. I was going through all this for nothing. That put a life sentence on me."

Fran added: "I got the cancer through it."
