A GRIEVING mum is suing a building firm over failures that led to her 10-year-old son plunging to his death down an open manhole.
Joanne Ferguson, 36, is understood to be seeking a six-figure compensation sum after her tragic lad Shea Ryan fell 20ft into a pool of water.
Last night law firm Digby Brown confirmed a case has been launched at the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
Glasgow-based contractors RJ McLeod has admitted health and safety failings that led to the horror accident.
A court heard how Shea got through an insecure fence into a construction site that was close to a playpark near his home in the city’s Drumchapel in July 2020.

He then found the hole and told his pals: “I want to go down.” But he slipped on a ladder and plummeted to the bottom of the shaft.
A hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court was told his cause of death was noted as “head injury and drowning”.
RJ McLeod were fined £860,000 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60,000.
Ms Ferguson said at the time: “That totally avoidable accident has ruined my life and my kids’ lives.
"I don’t even feel human any more at times because of the grief.
“Wee Shea is missed every second of every day.”
A fatal accident inquiry is to be held at a later date.
