My maths teacher is sexist and picks on me

DEAR DEIDRE: MY maths teacher is sexist and picks on me because I’m a boy.

He gives the girls better marks and is sweet to them.

But he’s always telling me off, putting me down and making me feel stupid.

It’s embarrassing and humiliating. I’m 15 and sick of being treated like this when I have done nothing wrong.

I used to be good at maths, now I dread every lesson and want to change class.

DEIDRE SAYS: You could try talking to your teacher and saying how you feel.

If that doesn’t work, your school or college should have a proper procedure if you need to complain.

Talk to your parents and ask them to help you deal with this. They should see the headteacher with you.

It’s a good idea to make a note of everything your teacher does or says, so you have evidence.
