GIRLS ALOUD’s reunion has already been a massive hit – with more than 200,000 tickets sold for their first tour in more than a decade.
Now a series of production companies are bidding for the chance to bring the Sound Of The Underground singers’ comeback to the screen so millions more fans can see them.
Girls Aloud have been flooded with offers to bring their reunion to the screen after selling 200,000 ticketsCredit: Fascination ManagementI can reveal the band — Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, and Nicola Roberts - have been inundated with offers about filming their return.
Options include a concert movie, documentary or a series about their career.
The four-piece are mulling over the proposals ahead of the launch of their tour in Dublin next May.
A music insider said: “Since the news of Girls Aloud’s reunion their management have been bombarded with offers for all sorts of things, particularly loads of TV and streaming specials.
From tongue scraping to saying no, here are 12 health trends to try in 2023“Girls Aloud regularly filmed and released their tours on DVD back in the day.
“But things have moved on, so they have been interested to hear what other options are on the table.
“The demand for tickets has been so phenomenal that it has sparked a bidding war between companies who are keen to land the rights to their show.
“They are very careful about what they do, though, because they don’t want to exploit their legacy or do anything that cheapens their brand.
"It is important that they are all in complete agreement when it comes to accepting any offers on the table.”
The group announced their return last month, having originally can- celled plans for a 20th anniversary reunion tour pencilled in for 2022 following the death of bandmate Sarah Harding the previous year.
But they have now decided to celebrate Girls Aloud’s history, which included hits such as Love Machine, No Good Advice and The Promise.
The group initially announced 15 shows at arenas across the UK and Ireland, with Cheryl vowing to make them “magical” in Sarah’s memory.
However, following exceptional demand when tickets went on sale last week, they have now added a further 14 gigs.
It has been a very long time coming, so I’m glad it is already proving to be a smash.
