SATURDAY Kitchen fans were left fuming over host shake-up.

Viewers of the BBC cooking show were less than pleased due to a change in presenters.

The One Show presenter, Alex Jones, took over from host Matt Tebbutt this weekend.

Matt, who has hosted Saturday Kitchen Live since 2016, is currently on a break whilst filming in Barbados with Great British Menu host, Andi Oliver.

Alex previously admitted whilst hosting The One Show that she is "no expert in the kitchen", despite landing the gig.

Fans of the show were quick to point out the swap on Twitter and slam the show's choice in host, with one writing: "She is a great presenter, but not sure if I like her for Saturday Kitchen."

A second wrote: "Why on earth is Alex Jones presenting Saturday Kitchen?

"Is every chef in Britain busy? Even Olly would be preferable…"

A third added: "Wtf is Alex Jones doing presenting Saturday Kitchen? Has the BBC made her a celebrity chef?"

"Why is Alex Jones presenting Saturday Kitchen?" remarked another.

Other viewers were quick to praise the Welsh beauty, with one stating: "Just love Alex, great show!"

A second stated: "Loving the show, Alex Jones you're brilliant. So are the rest of the cast."

"This @SaturdayKitchen is one of the best for a long time. Well done @MissAlexjones! What a great host. Great chefs and guests too!" exclaimed another.

The star posted to her stories with a snap of the script ahead of the show, alongside a celebratory champagne glass emoji.

She has also previously gushed about appearing on the show, recently writing on social media: "On the way to rehearse a show I never EVER thought I'd host....I'm so excited!!!"

The Saturday Kitchen official Instagram also shared their excitement, writing: "The brilliant Alex Jones will be steering the ship and welcoming comedians Nish Kumar and Josh Widdicombe to the party! ????"
