A smile icon appears on the top right-hand corner of the screen and changes colour periodically as you drive.
Motorist Chloe Hutchon is a lover of her Fiat and always thought the smile icon meant how strong the connection was between her cell and her car.
Selfish drivers mount pavement outside family homes putting pedestrians at risk"The little smiley face changes colour every time, it goes to red, orange, yellow, and green," she said.
But, she's now published a 74-second TikTok revealing what the changing colour smile actually means.
"It's not the signal, this is the coolest thing."
Chloe reveals that the smile colour is actually a measure of how efficiently the driver is driving the car.
"It's the cutest little thing, the Fiat 500 showing me how well I am driving!"
When you brake and accelerate harshly the smile turns read, but when you drive smoothly and efficiently the smile becomes green.
Chloe was brought to tears by the fact and says she is in green most of the time when she drives, but now she is always checking.
"Isn't that the coolest thing, the Fiat couldn't get any better, she's just great."
Commenters were delighted to learn what Chloe said in the video.
"I only spotted this the other day and forgot to google what it meant!! So glad I know now," said one.
Top ten reasons learners fail their driving test revealed by the DVSA"How did you figure this out? that's brilliant to know," said another.
"My fiat is slightly older so I have the smaller touchscreen and on that one there’s an app and leaves grow on a tree if you’re driving is good," said a third.
The Sun tried the new Fiat 500 in November and said it’s a genuine laugh to blitz through town in.
"It’s nippy and agile, and effectively a one-pedal car thanks to the regen — which makes slowing down for junctions without touching the brakes a fun game," Rob Gill said.
The new 500 is also an electric car, with it being perfect for getting around town.
