CHILD killer Jon Venables has made an 11th-hour freedom bid — telling Parole Board bosses he is “completely rehabilitated”.
Venables, 41, who tortured and murdered two-year-old James Bulger, submitted the statement after refusing to attend his parole hearing.
A decision on his release, due next week, was delayed last month to give Venables “one last chance” to make representations.
Venables, twice recalled to jail over child abuse images, is understood to have insisted he has “reformed” and is no danger to the public.
But a source said: “It is like he’s is being given more chances than he needs to show he’s ready to be released.

"Many argued that failing to turn up for his own parole hearing showed that he was not ready for the outside world.”
Venables and Robert Thompson were ten when they killed James on Merseyside in 1993.
They were jailed but freed with new identities in 2001.
James’s dad Ralph Bulger, 57, has warned Venables will kill again.
The Parole Board declined to comment.
