THE Brit Awards descended into chaos tonight as Shania Twain made a hilarious blunder.

The country music legend was presenting the song of the year award to winner Harry Styles for his hit As It Was.

But after handing over the prize, she failed to leave the stage.

Instead she just casually walked over and stood next to host Mo Gilligan while he introduced the next singer.

"Am I supposed to go off?" she said to a confused Mo.

"I don't even know Shania Twain," he replied.

The awkward blunder had fans in hysterics.

One wrote: “Shania Twain not knowing what she’s supposed to do or how she’s supposed to leave the stage ???? #Brits2023”

A second said: “Shania twain doesn’t even know what she’s doing here and girly is flirting with everything that moves on stage. icon #Brits2023”

Another added: “Shania Twain's ability to follow basic stage directions don't impress me much #BRITs”

A fourth said: “Shania just staying on the stage lmao I love her.”

“Inject this CHAOS into my veins #BRITs,” said another.

Shania’s wasn’t the only blunder on the show tonight.

Earlier on Mo Gilligan bizarrely introduced Lewis Capaldi as “Sam” getting his name completely wrong.

Lewis did not appear to acknowledge the mistake as he belted out his hit track.

After the performance, Mo quickly apologised after realising what he had done.

He said: "I have to apologise, I did call him Sam. It just goes to show how strong the drinks are at the brit awards, they are not playing around."
