The Golden Globes are attempting to reinvent themselves after a series of controversies, particularly a 2021 scandal when it was revealed that out of 91 members on its voting panel, none of them were black.

The membership has now been increased to 300 people from 75 countries.

Gary is in the Best Actor in a TV Series (Drama) category opposite fellow Brit Dominic West, from The Crown.

Imelda Staunton landed a Best Actress nomination for the same show, her first nod since 2005.

Rosamund Pike, Rachel Weisz, Andrew Scott and composer Daniel Pemberton were among other Brits who were recognised.

Ireland had reason to cheer too, with Cork’s Cillian Murphy going up against Dublin’s Barry Keoghan, from the movie Saltburn, for the Best Actor (Drama) gong.

Will they join the Euro club?

BLUE had a good crack at Eurovision when they took part in 2011 and now fellow Noughties group S Club could try to win it.

Jon Lee from the group has insisted he is well up for the challenge, even if his bandmates would need some persuading.

During an exclusive chat at Sunday’s Capital Jingle Bell Ball in London, he said: “It would be amazing. I don’t think it can get much camper than that. Eurovision would be amazing.”

But Jo O’Meara said: “You know what, I don’t think I’d have the bottle.”

And Tina Barrett added: “One thing I will say, they don’t like the UK, do they?

“They always give nul points. There would be more glitter if we did it.”

For now the band are focusing on returning with more new music after dropping their first song in two decades, These Are The Days, in July.

Jon added: “We’ll definitely do some new music.

“We’re going to concentrate mainly on doing some live shows next year, maybe like the Isle of Wight Festival and a few things like that.

“Then a few more international tours and stuff so lots happening.”

CARDI: MY RAP MARRIAGE OVER

CARDI B has confirmed the end of her marriage to rapper Offset after six years.

The WAP hitmaker spoke out after days of speculation that he had yet another affair behind her back.

Cardi told fans via Instagram Live: “I don’t know if you have been getting clues from me from my lives, my stories, who I follow and when I put certain music on my page.

“I have been single for a minute and I have been afraid to . . . not afraid, but I haven’t known how to tell the world.

“It has been like this for a minute now. I want to start 2024 fresh and open.

“I am curious for a new life for a new beginning and I’m excited.”

She added of the cheating allegations: “I don’t think it’s true but I don’t care to find out.”

The couple have two children but it’s not been a straightforward relationship.

Cardi filed for divorce in September 2020 but they later rekindled their romance.

In September last year, on their fifth wedding anniversary, she said she was planning a full wedding ceremony, having originally got married in secret.

Well at least she saved the money on throwing that.

Her second album, a follow-up to 2018’s Invasion Of Privacy, has been a long-time coming and I’ve no doubt this will inspire plenty more tracks.

Nicki heads over for gigs

NICKI Minaj will visit the UK on tour next year after announcing a trio of dates following the release of her new album.

The rapper will kick things off at Manchester’s new arena Co-Op Live on May 25, then play Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena on May 26 and London’s O2 Arena on May 28.

Tickets will go on sale through livenation.co.uk on Friday this week.

She released her album Pink Friday 2 last week and it is set to go to No2 in the charts, being beaten by The Killers’ new hits collection Rebel Diamonds.

Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G, who Nicki collaborated with on 2019 song Tusa, has also just announced a European tour with a UK stop at London’s O2 Arena on June 18.

THIS isn’t camouflage, SZA wants to be noticed.

She got covered in leaves and shrubs for the cover art for the deluxe version of her hit album SOS.

The original landed nine Grammy nominations last month and she will now release an extended version with the title Lana.

She announced the news on the one-year anniversary of the album.

In an emotional Instagram post she said: “Happy one year anniversary to an album that is actively changing my life.

“I haven’t processed this year at all cause it’s still happening . . .

“This is beyond my wildest dreams. I never imagined we’d accomplish a fraction of the accolades that came from this . . .

“I have to express the immense gratitude I have for every person that made this possible.”
