Who is Ethan Nwaneri?

Ethan Nwaneri is a 16-year-old midfielder who plays for Arsenal and is the youngest player to ever feature in the Premier League.

He made top-flight history when he replaced Fabio Vieria in the 92nd minute of the Gunners' 3-0 win away at Brentford on September 18th, 2022.

At 15 years and 181 days, he smashed the previous record held by Liverpool's Harvey Elliott.

Nwaneri could make even more history tonight by also becoming the youngest Arsenal player to play in the Champions League at 16 years and 265 days, beating Jack Wilshere’s 2008 record by 64 days.

The midfielder has also featured for England at under-17 level on 21 occasions, scoring nine goals.

Arsenal fans will be hoping Nwaneri can follow in the footsteps of academy graduates Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, who are now first-team regulars.
