Paddy Pimblett completes 32lb body transformation for UFC 296 fight

Paddy Pimblett lost over 30lb to successfully weigh in at 155.5lb for his UFC 296 fight against Tony Ferguson.

'The Baddy' usually binges on junk food after his fights and balloons up to over 200lb but he was able to stay more disciplined with his diet after beating Jared Gordon last December. Pimblett broke his ankle in the opening round of the fight as he won on points in "one of the worst UFC decisions ever".

Pimblett underwent ankle surgery after the fight but had complications as he got an infection, further delaying his return to the octagon. The Scouser told Slothboxx of his weight gain in the summer: "As I’ve said before, I think I’ve just got an eating disorder when I’m fighting, when I’m cutting weight and dieting, then after a fight, I’ve got a bad eating disorder.

"At the minute, I’m not too bad because obviously I had surgery. I went to America and got fat again, then came back and had surgery, and after the surgery, my weight has just gradually come down. Now I’m just walking around at about 185 to 187 pounds and I’m not really watching what I eat or nothing. I’m just hobbling around at that weight, which is nice. I’ve plateaued now finally around this weight, so hopefully I’ll never go above 198 pounds again.”

Pimblett has mostly been respectful towards Ferguson in the lead-up to their fight, calling the former interim champion as one of the best lightweight fighters ever. Things changed at the UFC 296 press conference on Thursday evening as Ferguson stared down the Scouser and tried to intimidate him, which led to Pimblett launching a verbal assault about his rival.

"You're head has gone lad, you need to grow up. You're about 14 in the head you little not. When I'm standing over your unconscious body on Saturday night like Michael Chandler, you'll know who the f****ng boy is. Cut me open like you said you're going to do, because I'll be ground and pounding your unconscious skull, you f****ng little bum," Pimblett said.

"Bring the blades out then, you said you're going to cut your last six opponents and you can't do f*** all against them because you're an old crab." Pimblett is still unbeaten in the UFC as he looks for his fifth consecutive win against Ferguson, who is on a six-fight losing skid with his last win coming over four years ago.
