We cast an eye over the new range of perfumes arriving at Aldi this week — and see what other bargains are about . . .

SOMETHING’S IN THE AIR: For perfume that won’t pull too hard on your purse strings, Aldi has launched His & Her Cozmo eau de parfum 100ml, £6.99, saving shoppers a fortune compared to Paco Rabanne’s popular Phantom and Fame scents, which cost around £90.

The supermarket has also launched Prism, Mon Amour and Only Natural eau de parfum in stores, each £5.99.

They are a snip compared to Prada Pradoxe, Giorgio Armani Si and Chloe Naturelle.

STORE SECRETS: M&S’s Gardenia & Vanilla eau de toilette 100ml, £12.50, would be loved by fans of Marc Jacob’s Daisy, £54 for 50ml at Superdrug.

Next’s Aura eau de parfum 100ml, £16, is a good stand in for Mugler Alien, £73 for 60ml.

Zara’s Wonder Rose 90ml, £12.99 has been likened to Dior’s J’Adore, which is £116 for a similar size at John Lewis, while Superdrug’s Lily Amour 50ml, £11.99, could make a gift for those who love Chanel’s Chance, £84 for 50ml.

Also look at Primark, B&M and The Body Shop for other scents that smell like more expensive perfumes.

ROOM FOR MORE: It’s not just beauty dupes from the high street we have a nose for.

Room fragrances also make for popular swaps.

At Asda, you can pop a lime, basil and mandarin set of two candles in your trolley for £8.

That’s a saving on £48 on the lime, basil and mandarin scented candle by Jo Malone.

Shoppers are also swapping The White Company’s classic Winter Botanical Candle, £35, for B&M’s Frozen Winter Berry stunner, £6, saving a sweet £29.
