FORMER Strictly star James Jordan has branded the judges 'irrelevant' after Ellie Leach won this year's series.

James, 45, left Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, eight years after joining the BBC show as one of the ballroom pros.

While he's no longer involved with the programme, he regularly gives his take on X, formerly Twitter.

And during last night's emotional final, he took to the platform once again to gives his two cents.

James wrote, "The leaderboard is irrelevant. They are all winners as that was an amazing final - but only one will lift the trophy."

Adding a poll to his post, he asked, "Who do you think should win after that guys?"

Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola proved themselves the worthy winners as they took the lead with 59.3 percent of the votes.

Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell followed with 24.1 percent, while Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin received 16.7.

But on the leaderboard, Layton took the top spot with 119 points, followed by Bobby's 117 and Ellie's 115.

ames isn't the only ex Strictly star slamming the show, though.

Former winner Darren Gough fulled the programme's 'fix' row by slating the format and demanding a huge shake-up.

Cricket legend Darren, 53, was crowned champion of the BBC One show in 2005 - before winning the Christmas special that year, and another in 2007.

But despite his Glitterball haul, he's also hit out at the judging panel - comprised of Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke.

He claimed they "rescue" certain contestants each week and that the winning couple are not left in the hands of the public anymore.

Darren told The Mirror: "It's a terrific show, but I've kind of gone off it a bit. The way it's gone down now, I know the judges won't like it but it used to be a programme where the public voted for the winner.

"It still is, but only when you get to the final. But now if you're good in week one, you're basically getting to the final. The judges rescue you every single week. It doesn't matter what the public think.

"I still prefer it when they pick their winner. The thing is the public go for the journey - there's no doubt that was the case when I won it, I won it because of the journey and they came with me."
