CAR detailing specialists have breathed new life into a classic Mercedes that was set for the scrap heap.

The Mercedes 300TD had been in the Ohio car yard for "over a decade" where it had slowly deteriorated.

That's until YouTubers and detailers Rj & Brent, who make up WD Detailing, found the car and took it home.

The 30-minute video shows the pair cleaning the car covered in mould, dirt, and general scum and revealing the baby blue colouring which had become obscured from view.

Back in their garage, they claimed they gave the Mercedes its first wash in 20 years with a complete deep clean.

"Now that we have the vehicle inside, do you know what else stinks, the inside of this car... I think someone was using this as a porta potty."

The WD Detailing team then begin to take apart the car so they can clean it fully, removing the front seats and the boot.

The pair are, at first, unable to remove the driver's seat, but then after shoving it around, they are able to remove a blockage,

The car's key had been missing off the chain and instead it had got jammed down between the seat and its holder.

But, it's not all home and dry as the car still has a significant amount of rust and would likely need a new engine before it is road worthy again.

Fans of the clean congratulated WD Detailing on making the car look so good again.

"Almost everything blue inside I thought was black. The polish on the paint was amazing," said one fan.

"You guys are the literal definition of one man's trash is another man's treasure. Great job," said another.

"You guys did an incredible job. Old Mercs were made so well. Imagine how nice it would have looked if it had been cared for," said a third.
