THE Couple Next Door viewers have called out a 'deeply confusing' problem with the Channel 4 swinging drama.
The new series started on Monday night and stars Outlander's Sam Heughan and Poldark's Eleanor Tomlinson.
The thriller follows two married couples who live in the same cul-de-sac who become "sexually entangled in a way that will change their lives forever."
The first episode focused on the building tension between newly arrived couple Pete and Evie, and their new neighbours, Danny - a traffic cop - and his wife Becka, a fitness instructor.
There's instant chemistry between Evie - played by Eleanor - and Danny - played by Sam.

But some viewers were distracted by the setting of the drama.
Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one wrote: "Anyone else watching The Couple Next Door and feeling deeply confused over where it’s supposed to be set?"
Another added: "Where is the couple next door filmed, the house are so unlike the UK".
A third tweeted: "The couple next door is set somewhere between Leeds and Luxembourg."
Meanwhile a fourth commented: "Viv insisted we watch The Couple Next Door, mainly because the Scottish fella oot of Ootlander is in it.
"It’s meant to be set in Leeds and God knows where they filmed it, but that’s not Yorkshire. And Scots fella isn’t Scottish in it, but then again he’s an actor and it’s allowed".
But another viewer replied to explain what had gone on, writing: "For anyone else who is confused, apparently it was a deliberate style choice to set C4’s The Couple Next Door in Leeds but film it in a housing estate in the Netherlands modelled on USA style housing… the director wanted it to feel off in some way."
