NETFLIX fans have been left exhilarated after the streamer finally added a long-awaited fantasy drama dubbed ‘better than Game of Thrones’.
The series, which stars The Umbrella Academy star Tom Hopper, aired at thr same time as GOT for four seasons between 2014 and 2017.
Fans of the historical fantasy Black Sails will be delighted to know that the streamer will be adding the captivating show to its platform next year.
The show, which ran for 38 episodes, was a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s 1883 novel Treasure Island.
The series follows the story of feared pirate Captain Flint as he fights for the survival of New Providence Island after the pirates in the West Indies are declared enemies of the human race.

Unfortunately, the show's hype was overshadowed by the popular mystical dragon series starring Emilia Clarke, which aired at the same time.
But till this day, many show viewers are convinced that Black Sails should have received a better reception and been given credit for its compelling ending.
Many fans of the show took to X(Twitter) and praised the series, with one fan saying it was ‘the best show I have ever watched’.
They added: “While it breaks my heart that it doesn’t have a bigger fandom, I love that I get to introduce friends to it."
Another penned: “Everything society gave to Game of Thrones should have been given to Black Sails.
“Four seasons of heart-wrenching character writing, wonderful period-piece visuals, well-directed action, and incredible acting.”
A third chimed: ‘Watch this show immediately. Toby Stephens should have won multiple Emmys.’
A fourth expressed: “I will be saying this for at least the next twenty years, Black Sails stuck the landing! Better than any other complex story I can even think of.”
A fifth followed: “Not to mention actual powerful queer representation & a good ending.”
