A DARTS star quit a match at 4-4 due to his opponent's "disgusting personal hygiene".

That's the stink-bombshell revelation from ex-world champ Keith Deller.

The 1983 BDO winner claims another player was the BO champ.

But he sparked a phew-dunit by NOT naming the mystery ace.

Deller, 63, spoke out following a bizarre dispute over his own behaviour at the World Seniors Darts Championship at Circus Tavern last week.

Some fans accused the Ipswich icon of using too much chalk on his hands when he had a whiff of glory during his victory over Mike Huntley.

And once he was dumped out 3-0 by Neil Duff in round two, "The Fella" had a right groan.

He congratulated Duff on Twitter but added: "Anybody moaning about the chalk, the two biggest names of all time, Eric Bristow and Phil Taylor never moaned about it."

And when ex-pro James Hubbard responded by saying pundits were only giving their honest opinion, Deller made a breathtaking claim about a past match.

He wrote: "To say ban chalk. What about player putting on stuff that stinks and is very off putting?

"Also a player you know on the pro tour conceded the game at 4-4 because the person's hygiene was disgusting, where does it end?"

That incredible allegation was not to be sniffed at.

But Hubbard could only reply: "Well I don’t know anything about all that mate, so not gonna get involved with it."

Nonetheless, if Deller's allegation is true, it surely makes darts history.

The scores in that aromatic encounter might have been level at 4-4, but no other contest in the sport has ended with claims of a stale mate.
