It's all still to play for in the I'm A Celebrity Jungle

THE 23rd season of I'm A Celebrity is in full swing, with a camp full of stars all hoping to be crowned the King or Queen of the Jungle at the end of their experience.

There is no prize for winning the long-running ITV show but the honour of winning is so prestigious that the cast are willing to endure harsh conditions in the Australian jungle and many Bushtucker trials in the hopes of leaving as the winner.

Who is favourite to win I'm A Celebrity 2023?

The 2023 series of I'm A Celebrity launched on Sunday, November 19.

The line-up boasted JLS singer Marvin Humes, This Morning host Josie Gibson, and First Dates star Fred Sirieix.

MasterChef critic Grace Dent, Made In Chelsea's Sam Thompson, and former EastEnders actress Danielle Harold also jetted to Australia for the competition.

Rounding off the original cast were YouTuber Nella Rose, politician Nigel Farage, Britney Spears' sister Jamie Lynn Spears, and Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard.

Later in the series, renowned Italian jockey Frankie Dettori and boxer Tony Bellew also joined the camp.

Grace Dent left the jungle on "medical grounds" after just a week in the jungle and was shortly followed by Jamie Lynn Spears who quit after 11 days.

The star, who is the sister of Britney Spears, was seen struggling in the camp when she first arrived due to missing her young daughters Maddie and Ivey.

The cast, minus Dent and Spears, are all still on the show at the time of writing as the public votes for eliminations are yet to begin.

Celebrities usually start to be voted off the series around two weeks into the competition, meaning the first official exit should happen on Sunday, December 3.

Clear favourites to win have already started to emerge but, as fans of the show know, it's all still to play for and as the contestants start to get eliminated everything could change.

Betting sites have been closely watching the show to see which of the campmates could be headed for success.

As of December 1, the odds of the I'm A Celebrity contestants to win the series, according to Ladbrokes, are:

  • Sam Thompson - 5/6
  • Josie Gibson - 11/4
  • Danielle Harold - 15/2
  • Nigel Farage - 8/1
  • Tony Bellew - 12/1
  • Marvin Humes - 33/1
  • Fred Sirieix - 33/1
  • Frankie Dettori - 50/1
  • Nick Pickard - 150/1
  • Nella Rose - 150/1

Sam Thompson is currently the favourite to win, having won over viewers with his antics in camp.

Who won I'm A Celebrity 2022?

The final three contestants on I'm A Celebrity 2022 were Jill Scott, Owen Warner and Matt Hancock.

Former Lioness Scott was ultimately crowned Queen of the Jungle, just months after she retired from football following her Euros victory with England's Women's team.

Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after being crowned, Jill said: "I just can't believe it.

"Honestly, I think I'm going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12 million votes she's done.

"We were one big team, I don't think there should be one winner, we couldn't have got through it without all of us."

It's thought that Jill pocketed a £120,000 paycheck for her time in the jungle.

2023 campmate Nigel Farage reportedly became the highest-paid star to enter the jungle in I'm A Celebrity history when the show's latest edition started.

The politician is thought to have signed for a huge £1.5million, eclipsing his co-stars' fees.
