PRINCESS Kate and Prince William brushed off the "racism" storm brewing around them as they received a huge standing ovation last night.
The Prince and Princess of Wales beamed on the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall as they arrived for the Royal Variety Performance.

Early Dutch copies of Scobie's poison-filled Endgame suggested Kate and Charles were the two Royals who had made remarks about the skin colour of Harry and Meghan's first child, Archie.
Last night Kate shrugged off the storm as she dazzled in a Monaco Blue long-sleeved gown and sparkling diamond jewellery - while William wowed in a velvet tuxedo.
Meghan Markle 'to unleash her own memoirs' as Prince Harry's drops next weekAnd yesterday, the couple were all smiles as they posed at Windsor Castle, alongside Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel from Sweden.
It was the first time Wills and Kate had been seen since the royal "racist" row sparked by Omid Scobie's book Endgame.
The pics were snapped just moments after the author doubled down and claimed he never named the royals amid the growing storm.
He also hit out at Piers Morgan after the presenter revealed who the two members of The Firm were included in the Dutch version of Endgame.
Piers last night told his TalkTV show: "I'm going to tell you names of the two Royals who are named in that Dutch version of this book.
"Because frankly if Dutch people wandering into a book shop can pick it up and see these names, then you British people here who actually pay for the British Royal Family... You're entitled to know too.
"And then we can have a more open debate about this whole farrago.
"Because I don't believe any racist comments were ever made by any of the Royal Family.
"And until there is actual evidence of those comments being made I will never believe it.
"But now we can start the process of finding out if they ever got uttered, what the context was, and whether there was any racial intent at all.
Harry and Meghan convinced 'royals were against them' after New Year photo snub"Like I say, I don't believe there was. The royals who were named in this book are King Charles and Catherine Princess of Wales."
Earlier this week it was revealed the bombshell book claims that Meghan named two people she accused of raising concerns over the colour of Archie’s skin in letters to the King.
In the English versions, Scobie says UK laws prevent him from naming names.
But in a passage in a translated version in the Netherlands, the legal excuse is missing and instead two royals were named.
The first was discovered on Tuesday, and the second on Wednesday.
Scobie told This Morning: "I wrote and edited the English version of the book with one publisher, that then gets licensed to other publishers.
"I obviously can't speak Italian, German, French, Dutch or any of the other languages that it's come out.
"I'm as frustrated as everyone else."
He added: "I had never submitted a book that had their names in it. I can only talk about my version.
"I'm frustrated but I wouldn't say I'm upset about it."
This saw Piers label him a "lickspittle liar".
Tonight, translator Saskia Peeters claims the manuscript she received had the names of the royals in "black and white".
Speaking from her home in Arnhem, Holland, she told MailOnline: "I did not add them."
Another of the Netherlands-based translators, Nellie Keukelaar-van Rijsbergen, told The Sun it was "unfair" they were being blamed for the furore.
Speaking from her doorstep in the small town of Schijndel, Nellie said Omid has left her confused.
She added: "We are professionals and we’ve done this for years, both of us. It’s unfair."
It comes as King Charles was seen with a smile ear-to-ear as he carried on as usual on a trip to Dubai.
The monarch, 75, is in Dubai to meet world leaders at the COP28 environment conference while his family are dealing with more shocking claims made against them.
President Tinubu shook hands with Charles and asked: “How are you?”
The King, in a tanned suit, took his seat and said: “I’m all right very much, just about.
"Having had a rather ancient birthday recently recovering from the shock of that.”
