And now they are happy to display their more intrepid side.
Clips on Alex's Instagram story show them plunging into crystal-clear blue water inside a cave.
She is also seen roaring along on a quad-bike - with Jess waving excitedly at the back - as they pass thick foliage.
And their smiles were just as big when they put on helmets to zip-line above giant trees in the jungle.
The pair went public with their relationship at the BBC SPOTY event.
Following a group photo, Jess took a selfie of just the two of them.
Perhaps the lyricist should now pen a version of "Jungle Bell Rock" to further showcase their festive happiness.
