Chloe Madeley says there's a very good reason why she and ex James Haskell are living together - and it's not because they're about to get back togther.
The TV personality's marriage to the former rugby star 38, crumbled in September but after they went their separate ways the pair, who tied the knot in 2018, reunited for Christmas. Chloe, daughter of broadcaster Richard Madeley, insists the two still co-parent "really well" and and feel comfortable with the situation.
Neither of them have yet moved out and despite the obvious awkwardness, there's positives to the situation. Chloe has been speaking to OK! Magazine about a difficult few months but says spending the festive period together was wonderful for their daughter Bodhi.
She said: "James travels a lot. He’s home two nights a week, so we both get our space. And then when he comes home, I’m tired from doing five nights with a screaming baby, so I get to sleep and he’s on the night and morning shift because he’s had the luxury of being in a hotel for five nights.”
She went on: "Since James and I made the decision to draw a line under it, I’ve felt really free, happy and calm. It’s interesting. I think people hear about it and they automatically think it’s a negative thing. But in our case, it’s a very positive decision and it’s good. I’ve just felt a lot lighter.”
Susanna Reid snaps at Richard Madeley on first day back at work on GMB as fans all say the same thingChloe was last week forcced deny she is having another baby after a brazen social media user asked her if she was pregnant. The 36-year-old could have done without an Instagram user asking her if she was expecting again. They were enjoying a meal out at swanky London restaurant The Delauna and she posted a festive snap kissing the tot by a tree.
But one follower asked: "Chloe you tummy is telling us something or am I imagining it." Stunned Chloe refused to let the comment slide, replying: "Oh dear. They're dungarees and I'm supporting my baby girl, come on babe, check yourself." But she politely added: "Merry Christmas to you and yours."
Despite the split, the former couple remain on good terms and also hope to continue filming their reality TV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair. "We're all spending Christmas together, and James will be there," she told Heat. "We've also pitched [a second series of A Family Affair] and are waiting to hear."
The two called it quits earlier this year after five years of marriage, in a statement they said: "Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love." It comes after the two put on a united front as they reunited for a family dinner only a few days ago. James shared a selfie with Chloe and Bodhi at the dinner last week.
Things seem to be better between them despite James taking aim at his estranged wife as he appeared on stage to broadcast the final leg of his World Cup Afterparty: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly rugby podcast tour. Joined by co-hosts Mike Tindall and Alex Payne, 38-year-old James told fans in Bath his ex was "unreasonable, overly critical and insensitive, and unfair in arguments".
