Frank Warren has slammed Carl Froch for criticising Tyson Fury after he pulled out of his undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury was scheduled to fight Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight world titles on February 17, but was forced to withdraw on just over two weeks' notice after being cut in sparring. He needed 11 stitches to fix the cut above his right eye and has since returned from Saudi Arabia to his home in Morecambe after the cancelled fight.
Froch reacted to Fury being cut by questioning the legitimacy of his injury, as the former world champion said on his YouTube channel: "I told you so, I didn’t think the fight was going to happen. We didn’t see the cut right after because the camera cut off, but I think the spar was very sloppy. I don’t think there’s anything excuse for him to get cut in sparring, it never happened to me."

But Warren told the Daily Star : "Now people can see that he’s come home, he’s been stitched up and all this b******s that’s gone down and come out from people, especially idiots like Carl Froch who should know better, is nonsense. Then again this is the guy who thinks the world is flat. He should know better than anyone, lots of fights over the years have been postponed because of injury.
Paris Fury speaks out on pregnancy 'rumours' in loved up NYE post with Tyson“I think these people who are being critical have an agenda. I don’t know whether they’ve got an agenda against us or if it is jealousy. Froch is a very jealous person. I remember when Amir Khan was starting out and he was only a kid, he was having a pop at him because he was getting lots of publicity. He has gone at Anthony Joshua since he left Sky and Rob McCracken.”
Froch wasn’t the only British boxing great to question Fury’s preparations as Johnny Nelson claimed Fury was being ‘turned over ’ in sparring. “I want to mention Johnny Nelson as well. I don’t know why he’s moaning. I wish he got injured before he fought Carlos de Leon. He acts like he knows this and that. He knows nothing," Warren added.
Fury and Usyk's undisputed clash has now been rescheduled for May 18th and Saudi royal advisor Turki Alalshikh has promised to fine either man £10million of their own money if they pull out. Usyk has also been promised two more big fights in the Kingdom, but it's unclear if one of those is his mandatory rematch against Fury.
