Kate Beckinsale seemingly headed to hospital following the Golden Globes last night, with her having shared photos of herself on a ward wearing her outfit from the ceremony.

The actor, 50, was among the guests at the event in Beverly Hills, California, on Monday. She joined Don Cheadle to present the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama, which went to Lily Gladstone for her role in the film Killers of the Flower Moon.

Following the awards ceremony, Kate is believed to have headed to a hospital to visit her stepfather Roy Battersby, 87. The former TV director is said to have been hospitalised in the US following a stroke and a previous cancer diagnosis.

Kate took to Instagram this morning to share a series of photos from the evening with her followers. She wrote in the caption that accompanied them: "Golden Globes 2024 start to end." The post began with photos from the event itself.

It concluded with two photos of the actor inside a hospital. Kate, still wearing her outfit from the awards ceremony, was seen sat beside a patient's bed in a room. She was joined by a couple of pals, who were spread out in the hospital suite.

One of the photos appeared to show Kate tucking into a burger. Another showed her lying back in a chair, with her feet up, whilst she seemingly looking through her phone. Kate was also sporting a pair of glasses in the latter photo.

The post has amassed more than 50,000 likes and it was met with supportive messages. One pal wrote to Kate in the comments section on the platform: "I don't know how you made it through last night with all that is going on."

"You are strong and a consummate pro. Having to leave the side of your beautiful Roy to honor this commitment at the Globes was above and beyond. Sending love and prayers to you and your family. I'm so happy you were able to make it back to the hospital," the friend added in their message.

Kate - whose credits include films like 2001's Pearl Harbour and Underworld - replied in the comments section. She wrote back to her pal: "Thank you and thank you for your supportive texts all the way through. That was so kind."

According to the Daily Mail, Roy is in hospital as he recovers from a stroke and deals with having been diagnosed with two forms of cancer. Kate reportedly previously brought him and her mother Judy Loe, 76, over to the US from their home in the UK so that she could care for them both.

Roy has been married to Judy since 1997. Kate refers to him as one of her parents, with Roy said to have been in a relationship with her mother since Kate was aged nine. Her father Richard Beckinsale died in 1979, when she was five.

Kate has alluded to difficult times over the last year in posts on social media, including having shared photos from apparent hospital visits with her parents. Reflecting, she wrote recently: "Probably the hardest year of my life."
