What is there to eat and drink at The Strand Palace Hotel?

You don't need to leave to find a great meal, with the onsite Haxells restaurant serving classic British cuisine.

There's something for everyone, with burgers, sandwiches and meaty mains, and my sea bass was flaky and delicious.

I opted for the pre-theatre three-course menu, ahead of a show at the nearby Peacock Theatre, for £30.

Make sure to save room for cocktails - the hotel's Gin Palace has more than 50 types, while the trendy Tequila Mockingbird is now open.

Or pop into Joe Allen for live piano performances and some celeb-spotting.

If you fancy a late-night workout, the on-site gym is open 24 hours a day.
