Fans of The Apprentice have hit out at the BBC for failing to reveal why sacked candidate Dr Asif Munaf was snubbed from You're Fired!.

Asif, 35, was edited out of the latest spin-off show on BBC TWO after he made a string of anti-Semitic slurs on social media.

But when viewers tuned in to the programme, it took 10 minutes for host Tom Allen to acknowledge the former NHS medic.

He then simply said: "Fired contestant Asif Munaf won't be joining us tonight.

"Here is the moment he left the process."

Asif's firing was then aired, before the show returned to Tom in the studio.

Changing the subject, he said: "Still to come, we have got a sneak peek from next week's task and I will be chatting to previous candidates about their Apprentice experience."

The only other time Asif was mentioned was right at the end of The Apprentice: You're Fired!.

Tom said: "Asif wasn't able to join us tonight but Lord Sugar has made his decision.

"Do the audience think it was the right one?"

The majority of the live studio audience held up red 'fired' boards, while only a handful raised green 'hired' boards into the air.

But viewers at home were not satisfied with the BBC's response to the scandal.

Writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, one raged: "We know why Asif is not on the show. You could at least say to the viewers instead of treating us like idiots."

Another said: "Are they going to make any reference to Asif's absence on You're Fired? Ok, so the answer was yes. In the briefest terms possible."

And a third wrote: "That was a dodgy edit about Asif not being on You’re Fired."

Asif, from Sheffield, had gone on social media slamming “the Zionist antichrist” and saying “the Zionist PR machine is slimy”.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews complained to the BBC about his posts, which resurfaced after he was unveiled as a candidate this year.

After being fired by Lord Sugar on the main programme on BBC1, Dr Asif was removed from the follow up show, The Apprentice: You’re Fired!.

The president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews Marie van der Zyl said: “We hope that the BBC will apologise publicly to the Jewish community for their handling of this sorry situation and send the people responsible for anti-Semitism awareness training.”

But Muna’s anti-Semitic slurs continued after the decision to remove him from You’re Fired! was announced.
