On Thursday's episode of the show, Derry asked the Dragon's for £100,000 in return for a 5% share in his luxury glamping business.

The business, Secret Gardens Glamping, which was initially a camping project made for his kids in his back garden, is now an award-winning business and offers a variety of facilities.

Derry admitted that he is a self-taught DIY-er and learned the tricks of the trade through YouTube tutorials.

Chatting about the process, he said: “I decided to build a deck, then days turned into weeks and weeks into months until I had a full pod.

“It just kept expanding from there and the kids helped me along the way, pushing my limits each time."

Derry wowed the dragons as he detailed that the getaway spot, which is now made up of 12 five-star lodges, is fully booked by guests for two years in advance.

Sara though was particularity moved as fellow Dragon Deborah Meaden gave Derry his dream investment and left the business-man overwhelmed as he left the den.

The TV personality then choked up herself as she dabbed her eyes with a tissue and exclaimed: "I'm just so happy for him.

"He's lovely."

Touker Suleyman then stood up to comfort Sara and gave her a big hug.

Fans of the show flocked to social media to share their thoughts, with one gushing: "Tell me why I’m crying??? Also saw Derry on a previous episode of Four in a Bed, I watch too much TV."

A second agreed: "Anyone else in tears? Well done Derry."

Another penned: "Very emotional show tonight, but loved it!"
