The former Brookside star once claimed she was chatted up by Bill Clinton when she attended a fancy dress party hosted by Cliff Richard in Russia.

Sharing the alleged conversation that took place, Claire, who was dressed in a racy Dangerous Liaisons-style outfit, recalls: "‘Clinton came over and started chatting me up.

"I thought: 'You dirty dog'.

"His bodyguard then came over and said: 'Mr. President, we need to go'."

Speaking on Channel Five’s The Wright Stuff, she says Bill Clinton, who was dressed as an admiral and was the US President at the time, managed to stay a little longer and was eager to get back to her to finish their chat.

Claire, who has toured the country in some of the biggest stage shows – including Guys and Dolls and Educating Rita - says she asked him: "You don’t want to go, do you?

"He said, 'How can you tell?'

‘I said, 'Because your left leg is dancing'."

She alleges Clinton responded: "My middle leg will be dancing soon!"

But Claire claims she rejected his advances and noted: "I shook his hand but decided I was going home with a clean dress that night!”

What do you do when you're the only one on holiday without a swimming costume? Go skinny dipping of course!

But Claire, who played Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago, was left mortified when she took the plunge - only to find she was being watched by a class of schoolchildren.

The embarrassed television presenter explained how she was in Mallorca, Spain and had been "training" with some friends, who all had swimming costumes with them, when they decided they wanted to go for a refreshing morning dip.

Being the only one without a costume, the Scouser decided to join them totally starkers - and was left red-faced when she spotted the "school party" who were watching from the shore.

"I've been skinny dipping once, and I had a bit of a bad experience…," she said, speaking on comedian Alan Carr's Life's a Beach podcast.

"I'd been training with my friends and they decided to have a swim at eight o'clock in the morning.

"I didn't have a swimming costume with me because I didn't realise that was part of the thing that they do.

"So I go in naked with the girls, and I come out onto the beach and there's a school party on the beach. My clothes are at the back of the beach, and I had to walk out in front of all these schoolboys.

"It was just so wrong… It was like half eight in the morning in Mallorca. I'd probably keep me clothing on now."

The Benidorm star has even co-written a theatre show named 'Sex in Suburbia,' which she says is loosely based on real life experiences and kinky adventures of her and her friends.

In the comedy, which she penned with Mandy Muden, Claire plays relationship expert Penny who appears on a late-night radio show with host Penny Crowe (Lindzi Germain), as she takes calls about disastrous dating stories.

"I was doing the show Tell Me On A Sunday which is about a woman looking for love in all the wrong places," she said, as reported by Malvern Gazette.

"During the show I was having lots of disastrous dates myself so the producer said to me that I should write them down because they were funny.

"I started collecting my friends' stories, my stories and we got together and wrote the show.

"It was really good fun."

However, for someone with such a high-profile as Claire Sweeney, online dating was out of the question.

"No, I didn't do internet dating because I found it a bit difficult with my job.

"The stories my friends had were hilarious though.

"One friend came home to find her boyfriend wearing her ra-ra skirt, we developed the story and turned it into a love story where a wife discovers her husband dresses in her clothes and it strengthens their relationship.

"They become the best of friends and it saves their marriage.

"We researched positive cross-dressing stories and we have lots of pathos in the tales too."

Speaking on ITV's Lorraine, the TV presenter added: "There's also a character in it called Cheryl, who wants to find Mr Right.

"She goes from one disastrous date to the next, and she wants a baby… That was my kind of story."

The former Celebrity Big Brother contestant has told how she was only too happy to unleash her sexy side when she starred in Proud Cabaret All Stars from April 2022 - and even admitted she enjoyed being "naughty."

Following in the footsteps of the likes of Denise Van Outen and Amber Davies, the show features a mix of breathtaking acrobatic, circus, aerial and fire breathing acts.

“I’m not afraid to be a bit sexy. As you get older, you care less what people think and I’m much more comfortable in my own skin now.

"I’m happy being curvy…I just want to feel good,” she said, speaking to The Mirror at the time.

The actress, who said she was inspired by American burlesque star Dita Von Teese, added that she was excited to "live my wildest dreams on stage”.

She added: “It’s very funny and very naughty…it’s great fun to be naughty.”

Speaking to Closer magazine, she went on to say how the show has got a super "raunchy" feel to it, combined with lots of humour.

"I wear a fabulous catsuit!" she said.

"I find it really liberating that I'm going to get completely outrageous and I am going to sing the song Light My Fire with a big band arrangement - and I think they're actually going to set fire to me while I'm doing it."

Claire took to the stage wearing a whole range of raunchy outfits - including a neon pink and blue corset which she paired with nude-coloured fishnet tights and knee-high boots.

To ensure she looked her best for the performance, she told how she planned on going to the gym and doing hot yoga five times a week - adding it's "amazing for weight loss" and "strengthening" the core.
