NEWCASTLE and Liverpool are both interested in rising star Manu Kone, but will face competition for his signature from Europe’s elite.

Both Premier League clubs are said to be interested in luring the central midfielder to England.

Kone currently plays for Borussia Monchengladbach and has featured 15 times for the German outfit this season.

The 21-year-old is highly rated and has represented France at U21 level six times.

Despite the lure of the Premier League being strong, both Liverpool and Newcastle will have to fight off PSG and Bayern Munich if they’re to secure the services of Kone.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported that all four clubs will have to tussle it out if they want to sign the youngster.

He also revealed that it is more likely a deal with be completed for the former Toulouse man in the summer rather than the current January window.

Liverpool have been linked with moves for an array of central midfielder after their unsteady and uncharacteristic first half of the season.

The Reds are reportedly prioritising a deal for England and Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

They will face competition to sign the former Birmingham City man too though, as he is also linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid amongst other high profile suitors.

The Magpies are currently flying high in third place in the Premier League after grinding out a 0-0 draw away to league leaders Arsenal.
